Richard Thomas Have come back to this album after a long while. It's a real thrill. The urgency of the first two tracks with their catchy lyrics and grooves. The next two are a bit too forced for me, it was a real relief to drop down a gear or two with Icebreaker which is a beautifully put together song, really evocative. I will be singing Laws of Nature in my sleep tonight. P.S. you have a rogue apostrophe right at the end of your bio!

Our new five track EP entitled The Mountaineer features the fizzing stomp of lead track 'Laws Of Nature', the swirling melodies of 'Another Breakdown', the muscular pulse of 'Echoes', the rootsy howl of 'Skeletons' and the EP closes with the lush and spacious 'Icebreaker.'

The Mountaineer EP has been recorded to act as a counterpart to The Shipping Forecast, carrying forward themes of nature juxtaposed with urban imagery. Think of it as side two of the LP. More than just a collection of tracks, the songs have been written and chosen to fit together and maintain a thread, throughout this EP and the last...
